At FMIPA Universitas Udayana, classroom bookings have traditionally been managed using a manual record-keeping system. Faculty and students rely on physical logbooks to reserve rooms, most commonly for lectures. This process is not only time-consuming, but also prone to errors and inefficiencies.

Main challenge in this project

Responsive Design on Small Screens: Displaying booked classrooms in a calendar format is essential for clarity, but ensuring that this view remains informative and user-friendly on smaller screens was a significant challenge. We needed to find innovative solutions to maintain usability and clarity across devices.

Final design

Classroom Reservation for a Specific Duration

Users can book a classroom for as long as they need, from a few hours to a few days, depending on classroom availability.

Real-time Preview

SIABO has an integrated feature that displays real-time classroom usage on monitors in the lobby. This allows students and staff to easily check which classrooms are in use.

Dynamic Classroom Availability

Allows classrooms to become available again more quickly if users finish an activity early or cancel their booking.

Booking Confirmation System

To ensure that classrooms are not blocked by unconfirmed bookings, this system prompts users to confirm their booking within 30 minutes of the scheduled start time. If no confirmation is received within this time period, the booking is automatically canceled and the classroom becomes available for other bookings.
